Before the first game of the NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers best of seven series, Jeffrey Osborne sang the “Star Spangled Banner”: USA’s national anthem. The game started at 6 p.m. PT and aired on ABC. It was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
The former lead singer of L.T.D. has performed at the finals five times for the Lakers, including in 2009, 2008, 2002, 1988 and 1985. He also sang the national anthem at the Game 4 of the NBA Finals last year.


Jeffrey Osborne is a Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter. He had the highest-charting hit of his career duetting with Dionne Warwick on “Love Power”. He also sang the hit “On the Wings of Love”.
The Lakers beat the Celtics with 102-89 on their first game. The next game will be on Sunday, June 6.
