Jane Lynch, best known for her hysterical portrayal of Sue Sylvester on "Glee," married psychologist Lara Embry in a small ceremony on Monday, May 31. The couple lives in California but married at the Blue Heron restaurant in Sunderland, MA, where same-sex marriage is legal.

The restaurant owner told People, "There were no celebrities or recognizable faces there.  Lara's daughter was there, along with close, close friends of the couple. It was small, warm, intimate and very sweet. You could feel the love and friendship amongst the group."

The couple announced their engagement in November. Lynch said, "It's a great and wonderful thing at the tender age of 49 to have finally found somebody that I want to be with. I'm so lucky."

The couple met at an event for the National Center of Lesbian Rights in May 2009, where Embry accepted the Justice Award, given to someone "who has shown the courage and perseverance to fight for justice and sacrificed to make broad social change for the LGBT community." Embry was recognized for her involvement in a landmark same-sex adoption case in Florida.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
