Ines Sainz pictures and an update on the reporter who was allegedly harassed by the New York Jets are in hot demand.
Ines Sainz made headlines yesterday when news broke that the female TV Azteca reporter was harassed by the New York Jets at their training facility during an onsite interview with quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Ines Sainz reportedly had footballs thrown in her direction outside, then inside the locker room, was subjected to cat calls by the players.
Sainz, however, says she never felt “attacked” in the locker room, nor was she offended by the Jets.
Ines tells DeporTV, “In my opinion, I never felt I was attacked. I went to the locker room and started to talk about commentary and sports. Another reporter approached me to say he was sorry these things were happening…and that evidently people were making fun of me.”
This morning, Ines Sainz was on the Today show to talk more about the incident. In the video clip below, Sainz comments that she “tries to focus on my job,” not paying attention to what’s going on in the locker room.
In the Today show interview, Meredith Vieira puts up Ines Sainz pictures on the screen while asking, “Do those kind of pictures get in the way of professionalism?”
The buzz is that Ines Sainz was dressed too provocatively to be in a men’s locker room, with Ines Sainz pictures showing what she would typically wear for sports reporting and other racy Sainz pictures making the rounds online.
Ines says she tries to be attractive, noting, “photos is a consequence of my job.” In Mexico, she says, she’s known for her image.
She also explains that wearing jeans is the most comfortable for covering sports.
As a parent, if you have a little girl with aspirations for sports reporting, do you want her subjected to the environment of a men’s locker room? Is it an acceptable interview location as long as the players conduct themselves professionally around the media?
The Jets released a statement saying they “will continue to work with the League to gather the facts and take any appropriate steps necessary to maintain a respectful environment for the media.”
