Eldora Speedway

Tonight from the Eldora Speedway near Cincinnati, Ohio top motorsports drivers are gathering together for one night of racing to raise money for charity. NASCAR, Indy Car, drag racing, and motorcycle drivers among others will be participating in the Gillette Prelude to the Dream. This year the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital will be one of the four recipients of the funds raised. Three other hospitals will also be beneficiaries.

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart spear headed the Gillette Prelude to the Dream back in 2004 after he purchased the Eldora Speedway. The 1/2 mile dirt track will bring drivers back to their roots. It is located in Rossburg, Ohio just over 100 miles outside of Cincinnati. The first three years of the charity race raised money for one charity, but back in 2009 organizers thought it would be nice to change up recipients each year.

This year at the Eldora Speedway the Gillette Prelude to the Dream has a new twist. The drivers will be competing on one of four teams. Each team will represent one of the four hospitals that are recipients of the money. The rankings of the teams will affect how much the charitable donation will be. Like years past a champion will also be crowned, tune into tonight on pay-per-view to see all of the action.
