MUSKEGON COUNTY (WZZM) -- A Muskegon Heights police officer tells WZZM 13 News detectives searched his home as part of an investigation into money missing from the department's property room.

WZZM 13's Phil Dawson spoke to the officer at his Muskegon County home tonight.  The officer says the Michigan State Police searched his residence, leaving with a computer.  WZZM 13 is not identifying the officer since he has not been charged.

Viewers called WZZM 13's information center earlier today, tipping us off to the search.

The state police began investigating the Muskegon Heights property room after former chief Ron Rake raised concerns about its operation.  Rake resigned from the Muskegon Heights department after voicing his concerns
