Shirley Manson whose real birth name is Shirley Ann Manson was born on August 26, 1966 in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is a well-known actress and musician of the Scotland. Her popularity among her international fans is because of being a band’s lead singer called “Garbage”. She travelled a lot between America and Edinburgh just because to record her songs which she sung for the band “Garbage”.
Shirley Manson is currently living in Los Angeles. Her distinctive voice, rebellious attitude and forthright style made her popular among her fans throughout the world. It was the start of 1980s when she started her professional career in the music industry. It was the time when she sang for “Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie” which was one of the popular bands of Scotland of that time.
Shirley was invited by the band “Garbage” to join them when they saw her singing on MTV for the band “Angelfish”. Though she was invited to sing in only one album but she decided to remain with the band and toured across the globe. She also sang in the next three albums of the band that made a record sale of more than seventeen millions throughout the world.
It was the year 2006 when Shirley Manson started writing lyrics for her solo songs. She also played a role in the second season of the series “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” which was also its final season. This role is also considered as the first acting performance by her in the field of professional acting. She joined the “M.A.C AIDS Funds” being their ambassador in the 2001 and their campaigns for around two years with Mary J. Blige and Elton John.
