PA Election Results:Arlen Specter Pennsylvania Primary Election 2010 – On Tuesday, the spotlight was on the big Democratic primary in Pennsylvania where Rep. Joe Sestak took on Senator Arlen Specter who was seriously burnt by the voters’ anger. Arlen Specter who publicly supported Barack Obama and who had left the Republican Party to become democratic in April 2009 was squashed by Democratic Representative Joe Sestak, a retired admiral who is supported by the party’s left wing. The 80 year old who lost his bid for a sixth term said:
“It’s been a great privilege to serve the people of Pennsylvania.And I’ll be working hard for the people of Pennsylvania very hard for the coming months.”
Rep. Joe Sestak will have the difficult task of confronting the fall Republican Pat Toomey, a former member of Congress.
Democrat Mark Critz won PA-12, against Republican Tim Burns.
