Question by Joy G: I had a larger than a quarter non-fuzzy bright tomato red spider run across my bathroom floor – red body, legs?
I had a large (bigger than a quarter) bright tomato red spider run across my bathroom floor the other morning, before stopping near the toilet where I squished it – because I didn’t know if it was poisonous. It’s October in the Chicago suburbs, so it was only about mid-to-high sixty degrees in my first floor apartment. The whole thing was red – body, legs, everything. The body was sort of long, not like an orb or wolf spider. And it wasn’t fuzzy. Reminded me of the large black spiders that occassionally came inside during the summer, except it was bright red! And it ran fast like an ant, but was larger than a quarter! Any ideas what it couldn’t been? I don’t have a picture, but can tell you if your pictures are right or not. I’ve been searching the web, and haven’t seen anything like it yet!!!
