It has over ninety stores running in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine. It includes products that are discontinued or the owner is facing loss due to its overstocking. It has a wide variety of products such as electronics, clothing, and furniture at discounted prices. Ocean state job lot also fills their stock with new items as well as their close-outs. Their goal was to provide quality products as affordable prices and best value for money. They have created jobs for middle level supervisors, store managers, Assistant managers. They have also created jobs for people in their warehouses and headquarters.
They have also setup an online job application procedure for job applicants. It creates opportunities for the brand name merchandise to be sold to cover the manufacturing cost of the brand this way people get benefited with the brands they can’t even think of buying at their original prices. Ocean state job lot face competition with Big Lots in the market but it will take some time to overcome as they are still in the line of progress. It was reported that the company sales was aprrox two hundred million dollars last year. They also provide free Internet coupons for their valuable customers. They have a large number of donations made annually. In 2009 they raised one million dollars to help fight hunger in the community.
