World Soccer Shop

If you have been paying any attention to the Washington Freedom at all these last two days, you are probably aware of all the head injuries that have plagued our team.

In our game against Boston, Abby Wambach broke her nose at the end of the game thanks to the heel of Boston's goalkeeper.  Then, Sonia Bompastor was in a head to head collision where she was treated with seven staples during the game so she could return to the field and when the game was over returned for formal treatment and got twenty stitches to make sure the gash didn't make too big of a scar.

There are probably a few things going through your head right now.  One, you probably thought soccer wasn't a physical sport (which you would be wrong) or two, why would Sonia come back in the game and how did Abby play the next week on a broken nose and even score with her head?
